Journal of Plant Ecology (JPE) is a bi-monthly, peer-reviewed journal of plant ecology.JPE serves as an important medium for ecologists to present research findings and discuss challenging issues in the broad field of plants and their interactions with biotic and abiotic environment.
Original research articles, reviews and short communications published in JPE cover all aspects of plant ecology, including biodiversity, community and population ecology, plant and ecosystem function, plant-animal and plant-microbe interactions, global change and biogeochemical cycles, plant invasion, soil and root ecology, as well as theoretical ecology, ecology and remote sensing, macroecology, evolutionary and reproductive ecology. JPE includes special issues/features focusing on the frontiers (including global change, invasive species, biodiversity and ecosystem functioning, etc.) in plant ecology with reviews written by the leading ecologists in the field.

JPE is sponsored by the Botanical Society of China and Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences , PRC and published by Oxford University Press, UK.

From 1 January 2022, JPE will become a fully open access (OA) journal. All papers submitted after 1st July 2021 will be charged OA fee once accepted. For more information please visit our Author Guidelines.
